THEMATIC, 15-MINUTE LITERATURE-BASED LESSON:
Butterflies is a lesson that teaches about caterpillars, butterflies, and calendars by reading "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle. The calendar has days of the week and months of the year. There are four stages of a butterfly: egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, and butterfly.
CREATIVE ART PROJECT
CATERPILLAR AND BUTTERFLY
Children create a green caterpillar and a stained glass butterfly. Each are placed in a chrysalis. Some calendar counting and parent magic make the butterfly lifecycle come to life.
