Kidgenuity® Learning Philosophy
The top priorities for the Kidgenuity Preschool Curriculum are:
Developmentally Appropriate Activities: Kidgenuity uses developmentally appropriate activities, specifically designed to teach through play and discovery; giving children natural and enticing ways to practice reading readiness, writing, drama, scientific discovery, and math.
Literature-Based Curriculum:
As a literature based curriculum, Kidgenuity pairs great literature with activities that build on a variety of literacy and mathematic skills. Well planned classroom routines allow teacher-guided practice of kindergarten readiness skills related to letters, numbers, colors, shapes, the calendar, high-frequency words, rhyming, and graphing.
A Love of Learning:
The Kidgenuity preschool curriculum nurtures a disposition for learning: a love of learning combined with fundamental skills. Children that are excited to learn will experience great success in school. They will embrace a lifelong love of learning.
Learning Atmosphere:
Learning atmosphere is a key for successful preschoolers. Before children can attach meaning to a concept, they need to have experiences that bring the concept to life. Children should be allowed to experiment, explore, and play.
Hands-On Experiences:
Effective learning activities include hands-on experiences that allow children to count, sort, organize, build, touch, explore, invent, investigate, hear, pour, measure, sprinkle, create, draw, color, match, glue, test, write, copy, think, read, melt, drop, paint, smooth, scrunch, smell, and taste.
History of Kidgenuity®
Each year we found that the preschool program was very successful in allowing the children to play, discover, and learn fun themes, while still practicing fundamental skills of reading, writing, and math.
We taught our three year-olds once a week, with an added fieldtrip to support the theme. We taught our four year-olds twice a week. Our students had a well-rounded education that established Kindergarten success in reading, math, and writing
After teaching for four years, we loved our preschool program and the successful learning our students achieved. We wanted to share it with other moms that were interested in teaching preschool at home. We developed art work to support our curriculum and started to sell it under the name "Smart Cookies."
Since 2005, our named transformed to Kidgenuity® because we are in the business of helping kids put their minds to work. For the past 5 years, we have been helping dozens of Co-Op Preschool Groups, Moms at Home, and Private Preschools achieve a successful learning environment.
We have tested and proven our lessons and activities. We stand behind our preschool curriculum. We are moving kids toward inventive learning with Kidgenuity®.
